1. Independent fan project
Pokémon Definitive is not affiliated with Nintendo, GAME FREAK, Creatures Inc., The Pokémon Company or their affiliates. References to their properties are intended to identify the fan-project context and the games with which project-authored modifications may interoperate.
2. Project-authored material
The project may claim rights in original website code, original text, original tools, original code contributions and original artwork created specifically for the project, subject to contributor agreements and open-source licenses. Those claims do not extend to pre-existing third-party intellectual property.
3. No commercial ROM distribution
The public distribution policy is patch-first. The site does not intentionally provide commercial base-game ROM images for download. Visitors are not permitted to use the site to request, upload or redistribute a commercial ROM they do not have the right to distribute.
4. Third-party credits
Where third-party fan resources are used under permission or license, the project aims to preserve attribution and applicable license terms. For example, the World Atlas separately credits the fan-map source used as its geographic base.
5. Rights-holder notice
If you believe content on pokemondefinitive.com infringes rights you own or are authorized to enforce, email lega@pokemondefinitive.com with enough information for us to identify and evaluate the request.
A useful notice should include: your name and contact information; the right or protected work involved; the exact URL or material you want reviewed; an explanation of the claimed infringement; your authority to act for the rights holder where applicable; and any requested action.
6. Response process
We may temporarily disable, remove, replace or restrict disputed material while evaluating a credible request. We may ask for additional information. Taking content down voluntarily does not constitute an admission of infringement or liability.
We may also reject notices that are clearly fraudulent, abusive or too vague to identify the material, while preserving any legal obligations that apply.
7. Good-faith notices
Please do not knowingly misrepresent ownership, authorization or infringement. Parties remain responsible for statements and claims they make under applicable law.
8. Trademarks
Pokémon and related names, logos and marks are trademarks of their respective owners. The project’s use of descriptive references does not imply endorsement. Any independent Pokémon Definitive branding applies only to the fan project itself and does not claim ownership of third-party marks.
