1. Completely optional
You never need to donate in order to browse the public site, use public tools or access a public release that is otherwise available. We do not intentionally withhold ordinary public access because a visitor did not donate.
2. A donation is not a sale
A donation is a voluntary gratuity to support an independent hobby creator and project infrastructure. It is not consideration for a commercial Pokémon product or service and does not transfer any intellectual-property right.
Do not donate with the expectation that you are ordering a ROM, commissioning infringing material, purchasing a future feature or entering an investment/crowdfunding arrangement.
3. How support may be used
Support may be used for domain and hosting costs, development tooling, storage, testing hardware, flashcarts, original-hardware validation, software services and the creator’s time spent maintaining the project. Allocation is discretionary unless a specific lawful campaign expressly says otherwise.
4. Payment provider
Payments are processed by PayPal or another clearly identified third-party payment provider. The payment provider’s terms, account rules, fees, privacy practices, restrictions and dispute procedures apply independently. The project does not need to collect your full payment credentials.
5. Authorization and age
You may donate only if you are legally allowed to make the payment, are authorized to use the payment method and satisfy the payment provider’s age/account requirements. Do not use another person’s payment method without permission.
6. Refunds
Because a donation is voluntary and does not purchase digital content, refunds are not promised merely because development changes, pauses or ends. We may issue a refund at our discretion. Nothing in this policy limits a refund, reversal or other right that applicable law or the payment provider makes mandatory.
7. Taxes and charitable status
Pokémon Definitive is not presented as a registered charity. Do not assume a donation is tax-deductible. Donors and the Operator remain responsible for tax or reporting obligations that apply to them.
8. No payment for third-party IP
Support must not be conditioned on receiving, creating or distributing infringing third-party content. The donation system is intentionally separated from downloads and project access. See the IP & Takedown Policy.
9. Questions
Questions about a project donation may be sent to lega@pokemondefinitive.com. Payment-account issues should also be raised with the relevant payment provider.
